We had a REALLY bizarre experience here, where somehow the morning of return, our car got damaged, and we lost the deposit. We were staying at a parking lot with cameras that seemed like it was in a safe area. It couldn't have been hit by another car because there was a curb and large strip of grass in front of the parking spot. And when we brought it back, the owner pointed out the damage almost before we even walked out to see the car. I hadn't even noticed at that point! This sounds crazy but it felt almost like they'd tracked the car and damaged it before return to take the deposit. I know that's dumb, but there were just really weird vibes to the whole experience. The car also had issues starting. Engine light was on since we picked it up but we were assured everything was fine. It didn't start on two separate occasions. I prepaid $700 for my rental car on line understanding that I would have a pay for insurance. Estimates from my guidebook indicated that it would be $10-$30 per day for a 9 day trip. When I arrived I was charged $825 or $90 per day for insurance alone. I had prepaid so I couldn’t change car companies and felt cheated. I was told I should have read the fine print. If that is the policy, it should be made very clear the the cost of insurance will exceed the cost of the rental.Reviewed 2022 Apr 06

Wouldn’t accept my credit card insurance coverage without a written letter—which is not a legal requirement but something they do so they can sell you their insurance. It was labeled as “on site” at airport. It was not. The car was pretty beat to hell.Reviewed 2022 Mar 14

We accidentally booked the car at the location 30 minutes away. The employee quickly identified the issue and they found us a car at the airport location. They did this by letting us take a reserved car and driving a replacement car up from the further location. No hassle and no extra charge. They were way more accommodating than what I have experienced in the US.Reviewed 2022 Feb 15

They tried to charge me an additional $600 for a 7 day rental for Liability insurance. It’s normally $13-15 a day. The company is apparently known for this shady practice.Reviewed 2022 Jan 07

One of the most unprofessional people. My flight was delayed by 2 Hours and Economy Rent A Car cancelled my reservation without any notification. I landed at their office at 11 pm, and they plain refused to provide me with any vehicle. Did not even bother to offer any alternative. Since the prices had gone up, they figured every reason to cancel my reservation though no fault of mine.Reviewed 2021 Dec 13

They added an extra $300 in taxes and fees, tried to give us a small and less expensive car instead of the one we paid for. When i called from the airport They even tried to tell me our reservation was for a different office 40 minutes away, there was no shuttle and we had to take a taxi at our own expense to pick it up. Luckily I just went to the airport location via their free shuttle and my reservation was I deed for that location. Never renting from then again, it looked cheaper on Kayak but ended up costing $300 more than the more reputable brands. Wish I would have read reviews and done more research, seems this is the worst company to rent from based on common experience.Reviewed 2021 Aug 07
