I reserved our vehicle online using American Express and assumed I would be able to complete any in-person payments with the same credit card. However, when I arrived, I was informed that Green Motion does not accept Amex and was charged a £150 debit fee. The car we hired was comfortable, but it was overdue for service and still had some garbage inside from the previous driver. The Apple Car Play also did not work for the entirety of our trip. When I complained to Green Motion about these issues, I received a very rude, dismissive response. They were unwilling to refund any of our money despite all these problems.Reviewed 2022 Aug 02

Although The staff were friendly and the car was good, it took us 1.5 hours to retrieve the car upon arrival, and there were many hidden fees. We had also wanted to drop the car off at a different location, which we were told was impossible because the branches were franchised. The company appears to have great deals, but it ends up working out to about the same price as one of the bigger companies that have better service and options. We also had tire issues and had to replace a tire, and are still waiting to be contacted by the company to be reimbursed through the insurance.Reviewed 2022 Aug 01

Friendly staff, ok vehicle (the lane correcting system was very annoying), but most annoying was the fact that I couldn’t get a refund when turning in the vehicle about 4 days early. We didn’t realize that staying in London would make having a car extremely expensive, so we decided to turn it in and use the public transportation. It would be really nice if we were reimbursed for the days we haven’t used.Reviewed 2022 Jul 13

Rental pick up is at Novotel about 15 min bus ride from Stanstead terminal. Bus pick up point is difficult to find, no signs or directions and is not with main car rental locations. Bus runs about every half hour, so could take 45 min or so to get to Greenmotion rental office which is a small trailer, staffed by indifferent people a short walk from the hotel. Took a long time to complete all their paper work, even though I had pre-paid on line. Agents try to sell you all kinds of add-ons. Car was nice, clean etc.Reviewed 2022 Jul 07

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Stick with a real car rental company such as AVIS, SIXT, etc. This is a franchise. They are incentivized to nickle and dime you for everything possible. What seems lower cost initially is a loss in the end. The bills keep coming for things they have found. When I returned the car they looked inside the trunk spare tire compartment to try to find something.
