The vehicle was good, but spoilt by not having an owners manual, so it was difficult whilst driving to understand some of the controls and what the car was doing by itself. I had to go onto the internet to find out what the buttons on the steering wheel did. Finally on returning the vehicle, I told them that a stone had hit the windscreen and it had a crack. When told that the 'costly' collision damage waiver did not cover the cost of repair, I was dismayed, I was told I should be able to claim on my travel insurance. Subsequently, Hertz have included a bill for 808 pounds for the repair of the windscreen. I shall challenge that as I got a quote of 148 pounds for the same repair. I have told my bank to hold over that payment, whilst the matter is resolve with my travel insurance. None of the paperwork I received from the people at the yard, gave me any indication of the exclusion of damage to a windscreen would not be covered by collision damage waiver.Reviewed 2024 Sept 29

Major waiting time for pick up. The car was handed over without inspection because of which I had issues driving as the wipers were faulty even though the car only had 2700 miles on it. There is no way to approach them if you book thru kayak or qeeq and they do not entertain any third party insurance that you may purchase thru there platforms and insist that you spend 3 times on hertz own insurance Also, hertz does not remove the exorbitant block they put on your card immediately. My block amount was more than the rental amount and I am still to receive the credit despite the bill being settled and 4 days being passed It's better to book directly from a car company after reading all terms and conditions rather than booking thru platforms which offer no information support or assistance in your tripReviewed 2024 Jul 20

Staff was very friendly and interested to help. We reserved a Volvo XC90 and we were given an XC60. We pointed it out to the service desk. They acknowledged the error, but said that they couldn’t help because we prepaid and that we would need to contact customer service. Customer Service said that they needed approval from the location. I am assuming that I will not receive an adjustment. That causes me not to book through Kayak. Additionally, they charged me £212 for minor scratches on a wheel.Reviewed 2024 Jun 24

The new car didn't have ANY USB chargers... only USB-C. That was bloody annoying for a new rental car. That ridiculous system for checking how many points you have on your licence is also both unique and antiquated. I know it's not a Hertz specific problem... but FFS!!! The staff member did help in the end and offer an alternative. The car was great and at a good price.Reviewed 2022 Jan 04
