I prepaid for my reservation for an important trip and they charged my credit card with full amount in advance. I showed up to Hertz location but desk agent said she rented my car off to someone else. What a joke! She was also very unprofessional and called me “disgusting”. Horrible experience.Reviewed 2022 Nov 08

We had car issues, an indicator came on that the engine power was being throttled. The car would stall at stops - we'd have to put it in park to start the engine again. We tried to call Hertz many times but could never get through to them so we drove 8+ hours with car issuesReviewed 2022 Nov 02

There was no one at the desk when I dropped off so the process was a little confusing but not a big deal. I forgot to note my drop off time of 6:40pm.Reviewed 2022 Oct 16

The customer service agent at the kiosk in the Pittsburgh was very rude and condescending. She would not explain all the charges when asked. She made it sound like we’d done something wrong and would be charged extra for declining the extra insurance coverage. It definitely left a nasty taste in our mouth.Reviewed 2021 Dec 23

Due to a shortage of compact cars I was given an "upgrade" to a Nissan Altima. The car was too big to drive easily around my neighborhood with its narrow streets. After a week of calling and occasionally stopping in at the rental office I was finally able to get a Chevy Spark, the car I originally reserved. After that everything was fine. Service at the rental office was very good, but they did not have the promised inventory. The lack of inventory didn't seem to be the fault of the staff at the very cramped location of the rental office. The location doesn't allow storage of more than about 10 cars. I found Hertz's telephone and online assistance practically nonexistent. The only way to get the service I paid for was to do a lot of leg work myself. I will probably not use Hertz again because of this experience.Reviewed 2021 Jun 24
