Cons: Very minor. But lighting was very poor in hallways elevators and in the room and could give a dingy feeling sometimes

Cons: Our flight arrived early, around 1:00 so we checked in with the front desk, knowing our room probly wouldn't be ready. They checked us in, stowed our bags and got our number and said they would call when our room was ready. By 4:15 when we hadn't heard anything we headed back to see what was up. The front desk had just forgotten to call us...so went ahead and told us our room was ready and gave us a key. The hotel lobby/bar is so beautifully done. And then we got to our room... The Art Deco lighting, while cool in theory doesn't nearly shed enough light in the very dark rooms. Especially since one nightstand was missing it's lamp all together and the over head lighting fixture was only partially working. In addition the very heavy doors close behind you automatically and do not have a "soft close" feature so doors are constantly slamming up and down the hallway which is incredibly loud, especially while trying to sleep. To add to the discomfort neither the beds nor pillows were particularly comfortable. This was our first getaway without our baby and even as sleep deprived parents of a six month old... we weren't able to get a good nights sleep. This wasn't helped by the visit from housekeeping at 8:00am on the day of check out nor the 2 subsequent visits by staff to see if our room was empty all before 9:45am. Not quite as bothersome but still disappointing were stains on the bathroom linens, only one robe in the closet, and the cable box dangling from the tv that was mounted to the wall. There is a fine line when decorating with a minimalist aesthetic and unfortunately without proper upkeep the room just looked bare and run down. Not good for a hotel less than a year old. Lastly, and this is more of a design flaw, in my opinion, the beautiful large window in our room had 2 shade options 1) a sunscreen that offered a light filter from outdoor light and 2) full shutters that can either be open fully or closed fully. If you open them partially, the light that comes through shines directly on the pillows, so right in your face, and fully closed you are in a tomb, which is great if you want that...but good luck getting to the bathroom because it is pitch black. No small illumination option in the bathroom to light your way. Oh and the bathroom... no vent or fan in the room or bathroom, so if someone goes to the bathroom and you don't want to smell it, you pretty much just have to leave the room. No matches, either. (Sorry probably too much information, but...a real issue!) Also, the water pressure and temp were set so low after showering I contemplated waiting until I got home to avoid having to take another Luke warm shower. I hate writing this! I'm not a complainer, just honstly beside myself with this experience. I historically love Ace Hotels and have stayed at several of their properties and have great experiences, which is why I booked the room here for our New Orleans getaway. So disappointing, hope they improve.

Cons: I believe the Hotel went way too far when trying to be 'hip'. 1. Upon check in the front desk attendant was not polite, sighed ignored my request twice when I asked for the corporate rate then made me wait 5+ minutes while she waited to ask her manager (I told her to ask him when he was free and get back to me - this never happened). 2. The hotel room AC only goes down to 68F which felt much more like 75F when trying to sleep. I have seen other reviews which also mentioned the same thing. 3. Each time I valeted my car (with a standard transmission) it took the valet over 15 minutes to retrieve it. Upon check out, the valet showed up in my car with it stinking of burning clutch. I noticed a new dent in the door, and pointed it out to the valet at which point he shook my hand and said "I never drove a manual before and I just taught myself how to on your car. Thanks so much."

Cons: The room was 45 minutes late being prepared for us and it mad us a little late getting to a meeting place for our party.

Cons: it is can get busy and crowded so if you are looking for something quit and private, Ace is probably not for you. Charge for water. Mattress was not very comfortable.

Cons: The room we were in was kind of terrible. Light switches were located in inconvenient and counterintuitive places, the bed was entirely too big for the room, the doors kept sticking (the room door had to be yanked open and slammed shut, repeatedly, which i'm sure our neighbors loved; the bathroom door closed just fine, but required patience and strategy to open), and the location of the bed meant that only one side got a nightstand. I ended up having to put my phone and glasses on the top of the headboard, which was kind of precarious. I hope this was just one bad room, but I honestly doubt I'll ever have a chance to find out if that's true.

Cons: The front door opens to the back door or a nearby hotel's trash collection site.

Cons: Leftovers in the fridge from previous guest. No bar in the hotel - we knew that going in but we found ourselves saying that it would have been nice.

Cons: Indifferent staff, mildewy smell covered up by perfume, dark room, noisy air conditioning, dark room. You can do much better.

Cons: I'd say the biggest con for me personally was the lack of a fitness room, staff could have been a bit more welcoming, I didn't find the customer service to be the best--but the room was nice enough and the location was great-overall an okay experience.

Cons: No windows!!! Poor lighting; old; not enough outlets and the one in the bathroom didn't work for my plug; not a great ambience; small beds if sharing; no fan in bathroom.

Cons: The non-windowed closet... oops... room was tucked away... next to the stairs exit. Extremely noisy. The room was dirty, the toilet stopped up, the bathroom had mold in the shower and mildew on the wall (inside and out of the shower). We only had lukewarm water the entire visit. Our visits to NOLA have us in our rooms very little durring our stays... still want a clean room with hot water. Things will have to change a lot for me to ever stay there again. With all this negativity spoken I must say the staff was nice and very helpful.

Cons: The building and more specifically our room smelled so bad of mold that we tried to get our room moved. They wouldn't move our room and wouldn't refund any money so we couldn't check out and leave. A week since staying here and I am still suffering from acute bronchitis, myself and every one of my friends who stayed in my room have the same illness. Our sink leaked constantly and soaked the carpet in the walkway of our room only making the mold smell worse. Housekeeping there my personal belongings on the floor, like my personal pillow and left it there. The carpet was gross and always seemed damp, along with the curtains. Beware if you have an allergy to mold.

Cons: No one available for valet parking and no bellman. Yet, you can charge for this. Person at front desk upon check in was rude and could have cared less. Also, if I would have known that my room would have not had any windows, I would have gone elsewhere.

Cons: A touch pricy but so worth it!

Cons: The restaurant downstairs was really popular with locals and there was always a line. Not a real negative, because it was tasty, just a 'heads up!'

Cons: No microwave or refrigerator in the room. No leftovers from restaurants able to be kept.

Cons: NO WINDOWS in some of the rooms, and half of the outlets didn't work.

Cons: A little hard to get to at first because it’s on a one way narrow street. Easy to miss the street

Cons: The pool was small and dark no sunlight and it was a outside pool that had freezing water. The restaurant connected to the hotel was ok but some of the waitress were really rude and slow we saw 5 family leave during our wait for our drinks. Meanwhile when we got the menus we didn't see anything we wanted so we told the waitress we needed the check. She left and never came back! We had to track her down and talk to her manager to get a check !!!!

Cons: Not exactly in the French quarter but definitely close

Cons: Intercontinental is supposed to be IHG's flagship hotel. During my stay I killed three spiders in the bed. The duvet cover was torn and tattered in multiple places. The carpets were not vacuumed. Someone else's dry-cleaning tags were left on the floor (2). The drinking glass in the bathroom had dried toothpaste stains from someone previously before me. For three days in a row I turned the same drinking glass up thinking that it would be washed and would return to my hotel room to find that it had just been flipped over, uncleaned. The best yet was the last night that I stayed the cleaning staff had left a dust in my room by the door. I guess since they werent cleaning they decided to leave the tools for me do their work. The front desk staff seemed unconcerned about the cleanliness and too busy to give it much thought. Valet also higher than any other hotel in area. Will go back to the Holiday Inn Chateau LeMoyne north of the quarter, always clean in 5+ stays there.

Cons: The bartenders at the hotel bar were rude.

Cons: Breakfast buffet was not included with our room. When my wife called the front desk, they left her with the impression that breakfast was included. We were surprised that it was $27 per person. What a rip off!

Cons: Pricing is very high during Mardi Gras weeks. Jazz lounge closed at 10pm

Cons: I really wanted a balcony room and they didn't even asked me if I want one. The water didn't even get hot shower

Cons: Quality, condition & service not up to par with reputation and cost. Not family oriented. Very old rooms. Certainly not a luxury property.

Cons: Noisy at night due to burbon st, but that was expected. Nature sounds come in handy.

Cons: The room was lacking basic items like bath towels, coffee cups. We were “upgraded” to a suite which had a queen spring with a twin mattress with the springs sticking out so we were unable to use this for our kids but still had to pay the upgrade price. Therefore the “upgrade” did not provide us with any additional sleeping space. The room door key did not work because they had to charge the lock. The concierge desk was impossible to reach to get towels, sheets, ect. It would just ring and go to voicemail. We tried to order food from the in house restaurant and they directed us to their in room menu which did not exist. Our room was two levels with an exit door on each level. I asked if they could deliver our sheets to the second level because we may not hear the knock on the first level and they said they were unable to go to the second level, even though this is a normal hotel floor with a normal hallway door entry so I was confused by this. Many of these issues are likely because they are short staffed with COVID-19 and hopefully will be improved.

Cons: Parking $45 too high. Noise and construction would have pick other hotel if known.

Cons: Have stayed at this location numerous times but have never had such a small cramped room. AC could not keep up wife was hot and uncomfortable both nights. Called maintenance first day of stay and he said it was working ok. Could not enter the hotel without being accosted by losers trying to get you to come into their strip clubs which surround the hotel.
