The rental staff- on pick-up and return- could not have been nicer. But, I reserved a small-sized SUV and was given a Kia Forte with 46,000 miles that had been smoked in heavily during a prior rental. I literally drove with the sunroof open the entire time I had the car to clear the air. I wouldn’t have mentioned this here if the couple in front of me on pick-up night- clearly walk-up customers- were given a new model red mini SUV, then I was told “You can take the small car over there or wait for a long time.” Bigger-picture, it is hard for me to understand how your company brings so much business to these rental car companies, yet we are treated as second-class renters. Cons:My main complaint is with the billing process. It was written in my confirmation that "Thrify charged the total cost of this reservation ($85.25) to your credit card today." However, when I picked up the car I was charged an additional $21.17 in miscellaneous services charges and taxes. I have rented cars and purchased flights through Kayak for many years and have never before experienced this "bait and switch" technique. I don't know if this scam was the fault of Kayak, Thrifty or CarRentals.com but suffice to say, I won't be using any of these companies again. If I can't trust you to quote me a fair price, then we can't do business with each other.Reviewed 2021 Apr 18

Pros:Very easy quick pickup with very minimal discussion of insurance and not much paperwork.Cons:Car seemed to be having a minor mechanical problem- it shuddered a bit. Had 33,000 miles on it. It didn't cause any problems for me though.Reviewed 2017 Oct 31

Cons:My rental was not available and the lady that is inside that small booth said that even if you made a reservation it didn't assure you the vehicle to be available!!!!!! I mean seriously???? Pros:EASY, EASY, EASY.... Found the deal, made the reservation. Free cancelation. Didn't have to pay up front and the PRICE WAS EXCELLENT. Car performed as it was required and got great gas mileage. I'll use this service again and again.Cons:Of course, one cannot change their pick up or drop off times without HUGE increases but .... that won't stop me from renting again.Reviewed 2017 Jul 25
