The price I paid on Kayak didn't include close to $50 in taxes, but then when I picked up the car I was told I had to either wait 1-2 hours for the car I paid for or pay another $25 to upgrade to an SUV because they didn't have a compact in at the moment. I had to get to a flight in Seattle so I didn't have the ability to wait. So I felt really hard done by. Plus the wait in the Portland car rental centre was over an hour to begin with!Reviewed 2022 Aug 01

We were supposed to get a mid size crossover, instead we were offered small wagons. Communication is terrible. No phone number to call location, tried to contact staff about an issue and got sent to 4 different staff and issue is unresolved. It was fine except I asked the driver who shuttled me to the airport how his day was going. After 38 years with Thrifty he was being let go because they moved locations to next to the airport I suppose. They told him he could reapply for a job as an entry worker. I just felt like the business, Thrifty, doesn't really take care of their employees so it's not a company I want to support with my dollars. I like a deal, but not at the expense of workers' livelihoods.Reviewed 2021 Nov 10

We had to wait for the bus about 15 to 20 minutes. On the return trip to the airport, the bus driver let us know that she saw us pull up, and waited for us five minutes to complete the check in.. That was very nice.Reviewed 2021 Nov 01
