Chicago hotels near Symphony Center

Cons: Rooms were an ever so slightly better version of the Conrad. No pillow menu. No glacier water. No espresso machine in room. No microwave or stovetop with dishwasher( all present at trump). And no cake with gold leaf on it for my birthday!!!

Cons: NOTHING

Cons: I can't really say I didn't like anything about the hotel or service. The only thing was it was a little expensive for us. Other than that everything was excellent

Cons: We were on the 23rd floor right next to the stairwell, and I have no idea where the noise came from, but all day and all night there was a loud knocking/banging noise, followed by a revving noise that would come from a machine, that continued nonstop. We were not near the elevators, so we ruled that out. It was impossible to sleep, even with the tv on and my white noise sleep app. Ridiculous. I don't know if the rooms booked on kayak are the crappy, noisy rooms because of the good price, but I will not be staying at the Hard Rock again.

Cons: The bed was ok, internet terribly slow and choppy, and gym very old.

Cons: The towels were not the least bit soft. Actually they were on the rough side.

Cons: Rooms were small, holes in the walls and dinged mirrors. Humid rooms and beds were not the softest.

Cons: The decor was not that of what I expected at The Hard Rock. Our first room was dirty and incredibley small. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to what was supposed to be a nicer room. The new room was a bit larger but still not very clean. There was urine spatter all around the floor by the toilet. The couch appeared to have stains on the cushions. I can only imagine what those were. The furniture was more than weathered and worn looking as well. It was a very underwhelming expierence of which we will not be repeating!

Cons: Room hadn't been cleaned properly-- smelly leftovers in takeout container still sitting there from last guest. Fix ice machine on 12th floor.

Cons: Parking was outrageous. Lack of free wi-fi disappointing. Everything in the hotel was so dark. Hallway and rooms all were barely lit.

Cons: No K cups on the second or third day! Not a huge deal, coffee shops close.

Cons: Too much street and hallway noise.Inconsistent service from housekeeping.

Cons: Libby smelled & bad toilet. Guitars are $500 deposit!

Cons: Despite the fact I paid extra for the larger more luxurious room it was very small and came with no perks such as included parking. Parking was twice as much as the near by overnight lots in the area. The towels, sheets ect were very stiff and ruff with no robes in room. The staff seemed clueless on several amenities the hotel offered including an app for the tv that allowed you to order movies and control settings the same as a remote and thank goodness because the actual remote in the room did not work. Also there were added charges to the bill that had to be disputed at checkout all were resolved but it added frustration onto an already Less than pleasant experience. We will not be staying there again.

Cons: Pre-paid for three days. Had a late night arrival scheduled. Weather delay so early Am arrival. They sold my room, but refused to refund my money for first night. Even after selling it!!!! Liked the place but that attitude was unbelievable. After that loved my stay.

Cons: My wife and I woke up about 3:30 a.m. very dry and thirsty. We will not drink tap water due to the quality of the water and the fact that most hotels are on softeners. I walked 3 floors looking for a vending machine with no luck. Finally I went to the front desk. They told me there was no bottled water available but there was a seven eleven a couple blocks away.(keep in mind the 23 degree temp outside) I wasn't about to go back to the room ,get all dressed and take that trip. If there had been a bottle available in our room I would have bought it. (I wouldn't have cared if it was 10 bucks!)

Cons: Many hidden charges, especially for room service, it costs a fortune. Other than that, great stay, friendly staff, good food, exactly what’s expected for a 5-star hotel

Cons: The scent was missing from the hotel, this was the main thing I was looking forward to and was very disappointed in that there was no luxurious scent to go with a luxurious hotel.

Cons: Valet parking was too expensive, $60 plus dollars a day.

Cons: More attention to detail could be provided to the cleanliness of the shower area. Several areas of black mildew in the grout of the shower wall.

Cons: Location of ice machine? Signage was inaccurate. Fron desk promised to send some one to show me--but this took 2 calls.

Cons: Staff need to stop acting so high fallutin. Yes it is the Sofitel, but you still work for me.

Cons: The customer service was not good. We waited 30-45 minutes for our bags to be brought up to our room and finally had to go down to get them. There were two bellmen standing in the lobby doing nothing and our luggage was just sitting there. As mentioned the room was not properly cleaned which is never a good feeling when you are staying in a hotel. I requested a late check-out and was immediately told "No due to someone else staying in our room and they needed to clean it". He then asked what room we were staying in. He again said it wasn't possible as someone was staying in that room and they would need to clean it. When we checked out I forgot a brand new shirt I bought while staying there. I rarely hang things in the closet and had done so since it was a new shirt. I realized this the next day and called and again was given horrible customer service. They told me it was not in the room and that nobody stayed in that room the night before so they couldn't help me. Obviously, the maid who cleaned that room took it, but they accepted no responsibility for that. Not to mention they couldn't give us a late check-out due to another guest needing the room. It's a shame the customer service was so bad because it is a nice hotel in a great area of the city.

Cons: The front desk is a bit difficult to get to, but the check in process was smooth. I had a a bit of difficult getting a bellman to collect my bags from storage though I was first in line. Not really a good hotel for children.

Cons: Except for my wife losing her nose ring and no thin sheets were available; our stay was outstanding.

Cons: Temperature control was a bit dicey; had to get up in the middle of the night because no matter what we set the thermostat to, it went absolutely boiling once we were asleep. Hair dryer didn't work (so I'm told).

Cons: Room Service was as expected for similar hotels. Pricey, Ave quality, the usual limited items. Wouldn't take much to provide better then expected.

Cons: You need to tell customers that they need to pay to park. Additional 45- 75 dollars to park was very disappointing and the butler food service was awful and completely messed up. You need to get better food service for room service.

Cons: Never received maid service without calling for the three days we stayed there. Disappointed I had to pay $4 for coffee in the morning. Should have a coffee bar out early in the lobby. Would be nice to have a fitness room in the hotel.

Cons: Dark, dated hallways. Very slow elevator. Our bed was not very comfortable. Rooms smelled a bit like smoke. Iron damaged some of our clothing.

Cons: 1st room constantly smelled like someone was smoking in our room, so the front desk switched our room (which was nice). Only one elevator working, long waits.

Cons: The female employee who checked us out in the morning acted liked she was bothered by having to leave the rear office to deal with us. She was sullen and sighed and didn't even look up as I talked to her. She is NOT a good employee to have at this wonderful hotel.

Cons: Only two elevators that allow 2 people at a time, took forever to get on an elevator. Fire place in the room, the reason we book this hotel over others, does not work. Room service unavailable in the morning, call 5 times, remain on hold for over 30 minutes only to get busy signals each time. Contacted front desk who confirmed they were available, called one more time, still unreachable. Because of this we were unable to have coffee in the morning, no coffee make in room. Quite disappointing for a hotel that is supposed to be top tier in Chicago

Cons: Staff assistance was hit or miss. Very frustrating. Some staff was very helpful. Others were not to the point of carelessness or rudeness. At this hotel I had expected service to be exquisite. It was not. For the price there's other hotels with better service who value their customers more highly.

Cons: I paid $700 to be told my room wasn’t ready, I should dress up in a locker room , and wait for a text that my room was ready.

Cons: Glass door on the bathroom let light in. The bed hurt my husband's back.
