The Dollar scanner wasn’t working properly and didn’t recognize my NYS drivers license and they weren’t able to issue me a car…though I had just travelled from LGA where they had successfully scanned it. There was no back-up plan. The people were fine but couldn’t accommodate me so we had someone else in our party be the driver. A very upsetting and sub-par experience. I won’t rent from Dollar again.Reviewed 2023 May 25

Horrible misleading servicePros:NothingCons:I reserved a vehicle on carrentals.com and was offered renters insurance at $9/day. There was no option to pay online but i reserved at that price. When I got to the aorport they did not honor my renters insurance price and tried to charge me $29/day. Horrible business practices and unprofessional company. I will NEVER rent with them in my life time.Reviewed 2017 Dec 28

Pros:The truck was great.Cons:I wasn't told that there would be a fee to return the car at a different location when I booked the rental. I was quoted three different prices. My credit card was charged more than my receipt. It was complicated to find where to return the keys. I won't use this company again.Reviewed 2017 Sep 19

Cons:I don't want to blame Budget as a company, but the man behind the counter flat out lied about the rate and what we signed. Yes, you should always read what you sign, but when someone tells you what it is, you expect they are being truthful. Customer service reimbursed 20%, but we never should have been in that position.Reviewed 2017 Jun 25

Great servicePros:Quick on the drop off and, when we had to re-rent the same car to drive to another airport because of a weather issue the employee got me back on the road quick and adjusted the rental for the fuel I'd prepaid.Reviewed 2017 May 25

Dollar does it RIGHT!Pros:We loved the price for one way from Greensboro, NC to Jacksonville, FL was $30!! No extra fees. Of course i called and specified before I picked up the vehicle what fees were included. $19.99 for vehicle about $10 for taxes and fees. They only give you an hour window of the time you specify pick up to keep the confirmed vehicle. Which worked great for us. We hit traffic and was later 9am reservation. 9:45am pickup.Cons:The vehicle didnt have cruise control or armrest. Overall wasnt a bad vehicle. The pickup took us 15-20 minutes. Only one teller at the window. Drop off was quick and very smooth.Reviewed 2017 Feb 11

Dollar rental was not supportive when my tire blewPros:- located at the airport - Price was reasonableCons:- Too much time to check in and check out - Dollar computer system couldn't find my reservation because the rental rate from KAYAK was too low - Too far a distance to walk to car from check out counter - It was a blizzard with wind, snow, ice, sleet pouring but no snow brush was included in the car and the tires were standard low quality tires - One of the tires became flat from the cold freezing weather but the rental car didn't include a spare - After the tire was flat and I was stranded on the side of the 85 S freeway at 4 AM, which was iced over, Dollar's roadside assistance couldn't send a tow truck until the morning - After the car was towed back to the airport, the rental car blamed me for the flat tire and charged me for the flat tire and the towing serviceReviewed 2017 Jan 15
