The pick up location was changed during my reservation!!! I put in that we were flying into ATL - Atlanta airport. Then when the reservation was completed they asked me to confirm the airport address-- which of course I thought was correct..... It was not. When we got to the airport to pick up the car, after a lot of searching the Hertz employee realized the change! She suggested we take an uber to the downtown Atlanta annex!!!! We could not do that with our golf clubs and bags so we ended up paying DOUBLE for the same car at the Airport! They said third party reservations always have a catch and this was it! Very unhappy. I reserved a car at the Atlanta airport. My arrival was 1300 local time on a Saturday. Upon arrival, I was told that my vehicle was at another location (not the airport - but Buckhead). This location was closed at noon on Saturday and does not open again until Monday am. The airport quoted me a price more than 4 times the amount I had pre-paid for my reservation (reservation was approx $275, airport quoted me for $1300). Hertz agent showed little interest in helping resolve this; actually told me to try AVIS, stating "their prices are better than ours". Reviewed 2023 Oct 07

This was a nightmare of an experience. I reserved my rental car through kayak for pick up at the Atlanta airport. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, and when I arrived to the Atlanta airport Hertz location they advised me that my car was actually reserved at the peachtree location, and that that location closed at 6 PM. They then proceeded to advise me that since I had pre-paid that reservation there was nothing they could do for me. They could not transfer my Hertz reservation from the Peachtree location to the Hertz at the Atlanta airport location. So I then ended up paying an additional $740 to rent the exact same car!! Grateful I had a credit card that I was able to put this on, but not everyone is so fortunate. I just do not understand how a company cannot transfer services between different locations. When I requested my rental, my pickup location was entered as Atlanta Hartsfield airport. When we arrived at the Hertz counter in the airport, the rental was in Buckhead-a suburb of Atlanta. To transfer the location was $2100.00 Instead, we took a $35 Uber ride to Buckhead. My blame is not on Hertz but on Kayak which I will not be using again. When we returned the car to the Toledo Ohio location I was given a credit for our Uber cost, and they were very apologetic. Next time I will book directly thougfh HertzReviewed 2022 Oct 11

I paid for the vehicle. The next day they told me that they had overbooked me and about 40 other people. They wouldn't transfer me or book me with another location. I had to call reservations again myself, wait on hold for about 40 minutes, all for them to tell me that the only vehicle available was 30-40 minutes away (if there wasn't traffic). No apologies. No compensation. They still haven't refunded my money yet.Reviewed 2021 Oct 20
