I paid for auto insurance that Hertz said they do not accept. I called in to cancel the insurance and have not received my refund. If car rental businesses do not accept the online insurance, why is it offered? This is very bad bud advertisement as far as offering a service that is not recognized.Reviewed 2023 May 19

I reserved the car weeks ago. When my plane landed they didn't have any cars available and I had to wait for the car for about an hour. I reserved a small car, & they wanted to give me a truck. What's the point in a reservation system, if what I reserved isn't available? I eventually got a Dodge Charger which is an upgrade from what I reserved, it was a comfortable car, but I had to wait for them to wash it first.Reviewed 2023 Mar 31

It took too much time to check me, finish the contract process, and get me the car. Poor The contract said the gas tank was full, but it was only three-quarters full. On the car inspection report it did not indicate a chip in the windshield. I had to go back to the office after I was already in the car and ready to leave to point this out.Reviewed 2022 Jul 20

When I arrived at Hertz in Fayetteville, the agent said he was trying to reach me to let me know they did not have a full sized car the class I rented. Yet, I had received not received a call, text nor email. This happens frequently and I was not upset the particular class was not available. What was upsetting was my rate was for $217 without telling me he changed the rate to $247 and added an additional $10 upgrade fee. He then pulled out an economy SUV when he had a midsized SUV in the lot. When I got in the car it smelled like smoke and had 3/4 tank of gas. I went back in and he added notes regarding the gas and smell. I called the 800 number several times regarding these issues. I got bounced around and never received callbacks from supervisors. I have to thank the drop off location in Fredericksburg, VA. They were professional and personable. They fixed the billing to the best of their abilities. Overall my experience sucked. But, the drop off location saved the day.Reviewed 2022 May 21

Pros:Staff did not care about giving me a clean car. After I left, I called to report smoke issues with AC use and car stalling at times. Bad gas? No remedy was offered. When I got to the airport, Hertz was not even there to do my return. My car agent n vet discussed my plans at all The worst car rental ever. Maybe I should have gone through the Airport rental instead of private franchise. I put 4 calls into Hertz to help me...Cons:Better customer service and an attitude of caring...Reviewed 2021 Apr 25
