I had a reservation that I paid for to pick up a vehicle at 6pm. I received a phone call while I was on my flight saying they close at 5pm. I couldn’t pick up the rental car on arrival and no one from hertz was able to assist me. Then the next morning I called to see if I could pick up the vehicle and they told me they didn’t have one available. Again, I had already paid for the reservation. Very frustrating.

I entered PHL as pick up and they made the reservation in downtown Philadelphia. I had to cancel the reservation and make a new one at a much higher price. I would not have chosen Hertz at that price and availability but was already stranded at the airport location with my family and so had no choice.

The staff who checked me in were great. The advertisement for the car could have been more clear where was the pickup location

Booked a car to pickup at PHL - airport. got there - "we have no cars." Was told I had to go offsite - $50 Uber ride. Get there - "we have no cars." $30 Uber ride to hotel. Told I had to cancel reservation. Spent over an hour on the phone with Hertz and they would do nothing for me. Original reservation was $350. End up spending $900 on a car!!!!! How is this possible. Kayak and Hertz are con artists. Absolutely terrible.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience while renting a car. At first I was annoyed by the $400 security deposit that I was unaware of, but after weigh all factors, it was only a minor annoyance. The staff were super kind and friendly. They moved with efficiency without making it feel rushed. They smiled. The car was in excellent condition mechanical as well as cleanliness. Highly recommended.

Staff was communicative and clear

Cons:

Pickup took ~45mins because car had not been cleaned. Even after cleaning, car was dirty inside and smelled like smoke + excessive air freshener.
