When I booked this car rental through Kayak, the listing gave me a set price that included unlimited miles, multiple drivers, and my insurance. After waiting nearly two hours in line at the Thrifty counter in Denver, I was told that the listing was incorrect and that I owed twice as much as I'd already paid -- and that if I wanted multiple drivers, it'd cost me much more. I really don't like being lied to, and both Kayak and Thrifty lied to me and gave me terrible service. I'll never use either company again.Reviewed 2025 Sept 17

The people at the service counter were friendly and tried to be helpful, however, they could not give me the car I had reserved or the equivalent. After an hour at the counter I had to insist that I get the car I had reserved (or equivalent) at the price I had reserved it. In the end, I had to pay more and did not get a 4 wheel drive. I had to add over 100 miles to my travel to avoid a snowy route.Reviewed 2024 May 09

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. Terrible customer representatives at counter. Two didn’t know how to use the reservation confirmation number from a third party booking service. When their manager showed them, he pulled another woman who had a similar issue in front of me. I obliged patiently. But, when the next counter agent was free, she wouldn’t serve me as I was next in line as she said “he was taking care of me.” He was busy with the woman who I let step in front of me while he figured out how to complete a transaction from a third party. This happened two times befween tbe same two counter agents and it was absolutely ridiculous. If it weren’t Christmas I would have lost my temper. As it played out, my SUV didn’t have four wheel drive - a necessity for traveling into the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains in December. Further, they charged me for fuel when it was returned full. And I was also overcharged by $16 for fees and taxes that differed from my Rental Agreement issued at the counter. I’ll never book with Thrifty again. The small savings I may have incurred at booking were more than consumed by the excessive time I wasted waiting for cobbler service and subsequent communications about being overcharged. And to cap it all off, the Jeep Patriot had an annoying rattle in the rear of the car which was not fixable for my entire four day rental.Reviewed 2023 Dec 29

Pros:Staff was great, drop off was easy.Cons:Apparently Dollar and Thrifty are renting out of the same building, and I waited a full two hours to get to the counter. The line was horrendously long. The only reason I stayed on time was that I got there early to see if I could get a car early, otherwise my schedule would have been blown completely out of the water. PLEASE figure out how to separate the two companies for now!!Reviewed 2021 May 26
