Pros: There was nothing over and above what was reasonably expected of such a transaction.
Cons: I requested to extend the rental period, however, the customer "service" person stated the rate for the days during the extension was twice the rate I had for the initial rental. He could do absolutely zero, nothing, utterly not empowered as a frontline customer facing representative to even attempt to make it feasible for me let alone achieve "customer delight."
When ending the call the representative asked if he could do anything else for me, I responded, "No, your competitor is going to." The representative had no response other than to read the script on his screen and say, "Thank you, have a nice day." A bot has more decision making power and understanding.
I went to an Alamo competitor, rented for an extended period of time and started a corporate account with that competitor. And that's how easy it is to loose the lifetime value of a customer.
You can do better.
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: Having a vehicle when arriving
Having a vehicle that works
Doing oil change instead of having client deal with the light and consistent warning signal
Change windshield wiper so i dont have too!!
Pros: drop off easy, nice staff
Cons: very expensive
Cons: Staff was rude when I questioned 50% increase in price versus quote from Kayak.
Pros: I loved picking out our car and the fast drop off and shuttle.
Cons: Arriving only one person was working to get people to cars, which caused a bottleneck, despite that one person being great!
Pros: Not much
Cons: Pick up was ridiculous we had to wait In The rain to be picked up to be taken for our rental car
Overpriced for what we got
Pros: The staff at the Philadelphia off-airport location were very helpful, and they made the pickup quick and easy.
Cons: As I waited outside the airport for the shuttle to bring me to the rental car lot, the blue National/Alamo bus approached as I waved, then drove right past me without even slowing. I'd been waiting for a while. A Dollar/Thrifty driver slowed down to check on me when I wasn't even waving at him, and ended up giving me a ride and dropping me off outside Alamo. So that was exceptionally cool and even heartwarming. When I mentioned it to the Alamo desk staff, they did give me a $25 discount. So ... I'm all good with it.
Pros: The drop off was easy
Cons: The car smelled like cigarette smoke the driver side side mirror was malfunctioning
Cons: No one answered when I called to confirm a car was available and no one was at the rental counter when I arrived to pick up the car. Totally unprofessional.
Cons: I wS TOLD THAT SOSMEONE WOULD SHOW ME THE FIXTURES ON THE CAR THAT I WOULD NEED TO USE, OPEN GAS TANK, TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS, ADJUST THE SEATS, ETC. THE MAN THAT POINTED OUT MY CAR SAID "THERE'S YOUR CAR" AND WALKED AWAY. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE
Pros: yes
Pros: The rental process was fine and quickly done.
Cons: The Rav 4 we rented seemed underpowered and kept dropping into eco mode. The car also smelled a lot of smoke like cigarettes and the wiper blades were worn enough to make driving in rain tough. Not a good value for the cost of $585.
