Upon picking the car up, we needed to switch the card and driver on file. They cancelled the reservation and made a new one, but messed up the drop off location. We got to the drop off location and were told to call Hertz, even though we were standing right there at Hertz. The person on the phone said we would have to call the original location to get the issue fixed but in order to leave we had to pay for their clerical error.Reviewed 2024 Feb 05

I made a reservation. They called to cancel it and said they didn't know why the computer allowed me to make a reservation. Sounds like an internal problem that a customer does not need to know about. Will avoid Hertz. They also tend to have people arrested because Hertz's computer system tells them a car is stolen when it's been returned and paid for. Bad business Hertz. You should do better.Reviewed 2022 Oct 13

Beware the ability to drop off after hours is suddenly revoked when they need to rent out the vehicle to someone else. I was attempting to rent and needed to extend it through Christmas Eve. I was able to do this through their “required online extension”! But they called and suddenly required me to drop the vehicle prior to my actual drop off time under threat of charging me for the next three days they were going to be closed! Well I just returned it and said to heck with the extension I had previously agreed to pay for ( although it was actually more than the additional days rate listed on the rental agreement!). They literally told Me to use the drop box if I extended, then said they wouldn’t allow me to drop box because they were closed! ( what??) called the hertz line and was told they don’t have a drop box?? Went to return and plainly see the drop box!!Reviewed 2021 Dec 24

management was rude, the car needs to be serviced the brakes where bad, no gas when I picked it up I almost didn't make it to the gas station, the car was suppose to be clean my son found a smoked cigarette in the back seat even though there are signs inside that clearly say $400 fee for smoking in the car. I booked through Expedia and wasn't able to put in our AAA membership and a request for second driver without upcharge. Pickup in Jacksonville was fine. Drop off in Ft. Lauderdale was a little trickier, but seamless.Reviewed 2021 Dec 02
