HERTZ IS THE ONLY CAR RENTAL PLACE AT THE AIRPORT THAT HAS A MILE LONG LINE. I HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR IN AN EXTREMELY HOT AND HUMID PARKING LOT FOR A CAR....EVEN THOUGH I HAD A RESERVATION. I WAITED ALL THAT TIME TO BE HANDED A CAR THAT DIDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY (A TESLA THAT CUT OFF/SHUT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING) AND WASN'T FULLY CHARGED WHEN I GOT THERE. THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE IN ANY RUSH AT ALL NOR DO THEY SEEM TO CARE/TAKE THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY. THE RETURN WAS QUICK AND EASY...BUT I KNEW THAT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. I WAS CHARGED FOR TWO EXTRA DAYS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET AROUND TO CHECKING IN THE CAR UNTIL THEY FELT LIKE IT. IT WAS SUCH A HASSLE DEALING WITH HERTZ TO GET THE MONEY BACK. WHEW CHIL THE GHETTO!!! The usb port was not functioning so I couldn’t connect my phone to the screen to see navigation. I had to balance the phone on the dash or hold it the entire time which made for a very stressful driving experience. Also unclear instructions in the parking garage led me to choose an electric vehicle initially which I then had to return. Disappointed.Reviewed 2024 Apr 27

My plans were all in place and required detail and...as I was walking out the door to pick up my car(10 minutes away)...I was called and told that no cars of any kind were available at the off-airport location! Why did it accept my rental reservation and...at the very least...called the night before! Unforgivable and something I shall not forget!Reviewed 2022 Nov 05

The key fob battery didn’t work. It was hard to lock and unlock doors and once I couldn’t start the car. I was afraid to go to a store because I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to unlock the car if I locked it. There were no key holes in the doors. They wouldn’t bring me a replacement battery. They were friendly. Car smelled like marijuana and that didn’t get better.Reviewed 2021 Dec 30

Pros:The ease and comfort.Cons:The price after I upgraded the vehicle for only $200 more took my rental original rental price of $550 to it ending up being $1125. I even asked the clerk at Richmond Hertz why was my rate so high and he said that it's not my final price and it should be adjusted when I get to my final destination. When I did get to my final destination, they didn't explain anything at all and just charged me the full price. I'm highly disappointed in what has occurred with Hertz and will NEVER ever rent from them ever again, or even recommend them.Reviewed 2021 May 09
