Intially I saw the reviews of Avis on google and was really worried that I chose the wrong rentals, but to my surprise I actually had a good experience. I pre checked in and was able to pick my car in 10 mins, which was very convenient.
I received a hybrid that had less than 10 perfect battery life. I did not enjoy the car for the entire first day of rental because I was afraid to drive it due to the battery life being so low. I had to find someone willing yo place an app on their phone and then drive out of the way to locate a plug in that I had to pay money to charge the vehicle up before I could comfortably or safely drive anywhere. The battery was not self charging as I drove it and there were no instructions on charging time,location ,etc
Both pick-up and drop-off were terrible. There were only 2 staff members, we waited in line over an hour to get the car. No clear information on additional pricing was given. Drop off was similarly bad, no indication on were to leave the car, the location was packed and they asked us to leave the car “wherever we could park” then they took forever to do the final check and the person doing it was annoyed by the crazy amount of work he had to do by himself and therefore quite rude.
They were rude, stole items, and overcharged us
The lady behind the desk at the pick up location was VERY rude and she intentionally didn’t want to help me with my reservation. When I finally got the car (after so much delay and struggle) the inside was filthy! The inside of the car had not been cleaned.
Please check oill change and other sign when you give it for rent.
