My experience was unacceptable. I arrived from my flight and the counter was closed. Even though my rental was booked for 8pm, they apparently aren’t open at that hour. I called customer service and they had no resolutions except coming back to the airport the following day, so I ended up having to pay twice the price at another company last minute so I could get to my child’s sports tournament. When we got to Salt Lake City to pick up the rental car that we had reserved, they did not have a vehicle to accommodate the amount of passengers as the rental car that we reserved. On the flight Dollar emailed "Slelect your car now" and go straight to your car. The SLC pickup island was vacant. Walked all the way back to the rental counter and found a line of 25-30 people waiting and one associate. We just left. We won't be back.Reviewed 2024 Oct 21

Although I confirmed ahead of my reservation time, and attempted to use the online checkin and pickup, I arrived to find a long line, one employee at the desk, and learned there was no inventory at the airport location. I reserved an “intermediate SUV” on Kayak, but Dollar (fulfilled by Thrifty?) only has a Compact/Intermediate SUV class—so naturally they provide a compact SUV.Reviewed 2024 Feb 07

Rental counter was closed when my flight arrived late (past midnight). I would expect a ‘major’ airport such as SLC would have coverage for later flights. With nobody available in-person and a typically frustrating phone call to a computer only, we had to stay the night nearby and rent my vehicle the next day. No change in rental costs, no acknowledgement of the hassle, simply “tough luck, you want the vehicle or not”.Reviewed 2023 Dec 23

Pros:PriceCons:Reservations give a company a pretty good idea of how busy they will be on any given day. We picked up our car on a Friday with a convention in town, why are they understaffed on a day like this? It took over an hour to get to my car. They might have made a profit that day, but I will think twice before going with Dollar/ Thrifty again.Reviewed 2021 May 12
