The Avis drop off location in Vegas was terrible. The drop off was at Mandalay Bay and there wasn’t any signage to help find where to drop the car off or the keys to the Dropbox. We spent 45 minutes looking where to drop the car and then locating the key drop off box.Reviewed 2025 Jun 26

Didn’t like anything. Was in a rush and they took advantage of me. I prepaid for insurance but was double charged. You need to stand behind your customers against this type of bs. Gives you a bad name by relation. Car was in terrible shape as well and was told it would be 70-100% charged. It was at 50% so had to charge on the first day. We went to pick up our car and there was 150 people lined up and no cars. The front desk staff made all sorts of BS excuses. We ended up cancelling our reservation. In my 35 years of renting cars I have never seen such a disaster.Reviewed 2024 Nov 18

Seamless pickup and return. Received info on where to pick up car before we landed and walked right to car and was out of the lot in 5 minutes. Same for drop off, no waiting and was on the way in a couple of minutes.Reviewed 2024 Oct 20

My experience with Avis was fine. But my experience with Kayak was not. When I searched for a car rental, I found a number of cars available for roughly $150 a day. Then there was the "manager's choice" car at Avis, which was listed at $155.54 -- total. I naturally booked that, and received an email that appeared to confirm that the total price was $155.54. As it turned out, that was false, and I wound up paying $518.42. I am not happy about that. My only gripe with Avis is that I wound up renting an electric car, but received no advice about where to charge it. I ultimately tried two charging stations, one of which was going to take 12 hours to charge, and was nowhere near where I was staying, and the other one of which was a "fast charge" station that could only charge one car at a time, and it was in use.
