Exceptions apply to:
People entitled to permanent residence in Hungary and their family members
Family members of a Hungarian citizen
Those crossing the border in freight traffic, persons holding diplomatic or a diplomatic service passport or a service passport for seamen
Persons reporting to entry holding a private passport or other travel documents for the purpose of official visit (the purpose of the official visit shall be proved with documents)
Travelers providing satisfactory proof while entering Hungary that they have undergone COVID-19 infection within 6 months prior to reporting to entry.
Romanian citizens immune to the coronavirus can enter Hungary without having to stay in isolation or present negative COVID tests.
Travelers must take 2 COVID-19 tests to shorten their quarantine at two different times with at least 48 hours between them. If travelers take their 1st test outside of Hungary it will shorten the time required to take the second in Hungary.
The test must be a COVID-19 PCR test taken in a Schengen country, the United States, or Canada. The test must be taken within 48 hours before arrival.
Foreign citizens may be exempted from quarantine if they attest with a document containing the results of two SARS-CoV-2 tests performed in Hungary at two different times with at least 48 hours between them that the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was not detected in their body at the time of the tests.
However, it is also acceptable if the first of the two tests is performed in one of the Schengen countries, the United States of America or Canada.
Moreover, persons who hold a certificate of immunity issued by Serbia, Montenegro, Bahrain, Croatia, Turkey, North Macedonia, Czech Republic or Slovenia are exempted from the restrictions upon entry.
All passengers, including protected individual (vaccinated and individual who recovered from COVID-19) must present a PCR test. It must be written in English and the passport number of the tested person must be indicated.
All inbound international passengers must pay for COVID-19 (PCR) tests required for entry to Israel.
This may be shortened to 10 days upon the completion of two negative coronavirus tests (one upon arrival and one after 9 days of self-isolation).
Most visitors from Israel can enter Hungary but you need to provide a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure and to isolate for 10 days
Travelers from from Israel are required to isolate for 10 days. Please read the details under the "Quarantine Requirements" section.
