Several things could have been done better... 1. The change oil light came on mid-week. 2. No where in the reservation confirmation or in any of the e-mails leading up to the trip did it tell us that we had to take a shuttle to a hotel to get the car, so we waited for a shuttle for the rental car company at LAX for quite some time before we realized that the company didn't have a shuttle. 3. Two significant unexpected charges were added when we picked up the car, so the rental ended up being much more expensive than we were expecting.Reviewed 2022 Aug 07

My flight was delayed due to active shooter meaning I would be delayed on when I would pick up the reservation. I found out that this location would only be open until 5pm which I would not be there in time to pick up the vehicle. I tried to call the location to let them know but no one answered. I them reached out to Kayak who said my reservation would be held for 24 hours. I asked if they had a number so I could let Nu Car know I would not be there and they provided me with the same number I had already called. When I called the general number, I had to wait 10 minutes each time to speak with a person. The first time, as soon as they picked up the phone, the call dropped. The second time the call was answered I spoke to the agent and asked her to repeat herself twice since it was loud going through TSA check point again. The call dropped or she hung up on me. I sent an email asking about me reservation but did not hear back. The following morning, I arrived to the location to pick up my reservation and they said they no longer would honor the reservation. I told them about holing the reservation for 24 hours, which is what Kayak said Nu Car would do and they informed me they do not honor that. Since I was already there, I rented from them but close to double of the rate of the initial reservation. They also informed me that the rental rate I had been given through Kayak would not have been honored since the price given was due to a glitch in their system. After looking at reviews for this specific location, it appears other customers have experienced booking at a certain rate, only to find out when they pick up the rental that the rate they were given was not honored. I would recommend removing them from Kayak. Their customer service scores was 1.3 out of 5 stars.Reviewed 2022 Aug 07

Very poor experience with NU car rental in LA, there were no cars available for myself and several other customers who had made reservations and prepaid. The person who informed everyone that cars were not available also redirected us to another rental company down the street called Sakura Car Rental, which was excellent. Do yourself a favor and bypass NU and go straight to Sakura.Reviewed 2022 Jul 16

It’s worse. My flight got delayed but I was there just after 5 minutes of my time frame and they said they don’t have a car which I booked. They were offering me a mini van which I don’t want with the family for 4. The staff were so rude, no consideration if your flight is late for any reason. I hate this company. I would rather prefer to pay more and go with other renown company like budget or enterprise. Furthermore they are not located at the airport. I was supposed to pick car from LAX airport. But they don’t have shuttle. They shared shuttle with westin hotel. Really, how would I know that I have to take westin hotel shuttle by being LAX huge airport at first time. They don’t have proper instructions. Also they were not picking phone if you call them. Very poor service. I have two small kids with me and they have no sympathy or consideration for their client. The experience with Priceline and NU Car were horrible. Our flight was delayed by two hours and when we arrived at NU Car, they had given the car away since we missed the “two hour” window….so they cancelled our reservation. We then had to try to reach Priceline Customer Service…which was impossible and a total joke! Never again on Priceline or NU Car Rental. BEWARE! Nu Rentals is not at the airport & closes at 5pm. We arrived at 5:30pm to pick up our car, but they were closed (as was the customer service phone line) & we went back the next morning to get our car. There was a line about 40 people deep at 9am & it turned out that all rentals for that day (and the day before) had been inexplicably cancelled & no cars were available for anyone. The people working at the Nu counter were very nice, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do & we had to find a car elsewhere. We did get our money back, but spent way too much time (and money on Ubers) on something that should have been pretty straightforward. I will never rent from Nu again.Reviewed 2022 Mar 22
