Pros: The rooms are little pods, but really fine for the price. Very clean. They are having issues with the some of the iPads that control room temp, lights, etc, but assured me this was a temporary glitch, as this was a new batch. The lobby is amazing and the location stellar. The staff might be the nicest and friendliest of any hotel I've ever stayed in. Inexpensive and tasty buffet breakfast at communal tables gives you the chance to chat with lovely people from all over the world. Rooftop bar has beautiful views.
Cons: Just the iPad situation, and that was very minor compared to all the positives. The controls were still functional, so no real problem on my end. Just had to frequently reboot.

Pros: Exactly what I needed for a one night business trip. Room is compact, but designed to be so, and spotlessly clean. Has a great location, fast wifi, brilliant communal spaces for getting out the laptop, and it took less than a minute to check in and out.

Pros: The location is spot on, the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. The check-in/out is easy and the personnel is corteous; we had t use their concierge services twice and they were friendly and prompt.
Cons: Given the hotel class and its prices few things could be better, like a Nespresso machine in the room (very common these days even in 4 stars environments) - a greater selection of TV channels would also ber good. Therer's a Samsung tablet in the room, but you can't really do much with it. On arrival with luggage etc. we had to open the doors ourselves - minial as it may sound, when you're loaded with luggage opening a heavy door isn't that easy especially when you se the door men happily chatting inside.

Pros: Once you get past the unprepossessing lobby, the hotel is really excellent. We were upgraded to a junior suite, which was large, comfortable and well-appointed. It was bitterly cold so we ate in the hotel, choosing the bar's little plate menu over the Vlentine's Day special menu; each choice was delicious. Large, contemporary bar and restaurant (maybe showing a little wear on the cushions) and excellent service. Location, right on the corner of Times Square, can't be beat if you want to be in the middle of it all. Not cheap, but we weren't on a penny pinching trip. Worth every penny. Special mention to the concierge for fulfilling a couple special requests.
Cons: As noted, the lobby is decidedly underwhelming although the staff was friendly and helpful. Otherwise, no complaints!

Pros: The Knockerbocker was a very nice hotel with a great location. My only complaint was the day that we left, we stored our bags for a few hours. When we came back to pick them up, it took 20 minutes or so to get them. I had to catch a flight. The front desk was unapologetic about it. They just stood at the desk, while customers waited and were dissatisfied. They need to make sure they are staffed properly at a busy time, and if not, other staff should pitch in. It should be a group effort, because it makes the hotel better as a whole.

Pros: We came for the birth of my first grandchild.the hotel is very modern and sleek. Our room was large and well appointed with all of the modern technological conveniences. The mattress was very comfortable with high thread count linens. The bathroom was large and had more bath accessories than I have ever seen. I.e. Cuff links, tooth brush, paste, etc. I loved the large soaking tub. We never heard any outside noise even though this hotel is located in Times Square From the front desk to the doorman, the service was incredible. Leilani, one of the managers even gave us a gift for the new baby. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Our Junior Suite (1501) was quite dark with small windows. The complimentary tablet is a gimmick and is not likely to be useful to anyone with a smartphone or their own tablet/laptop. No hand towel rack—where do you put them? Disconcertingly loose bathroom/shower fittings. No coffee. Stain on couch.

Pros: Easy walk over to Times Square. The room was beautiful and I really felt like I got a great deal staying here! It's New York so of course it was a tight fit, but our family of four in the double deluxe room never felt too crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood was close enough to Subways and other destinations, but far enough from all the action and noise. Will definitely remember this place the next time I visit New York!

Cons: The rooms were minimalist, which is okay because you aren’t there much. However, the biggest problem we had was that our key demagnetized EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. We put it in different pockets, away from cell phones, we were very careful because it got SO ANNOYING to have to trek back to the desk from the 17th floor every time we went back to the room. Our subway cards didn’t demagnetize stored the same way. I stay in hotels frequently at all price points and have never had this consistent a problem with room access. By the end of the trip I thought I should just probably go wait in the front desk line every time I walked through the lobby just to avoid the trip back down.

Finally when he given me advice it went wrong. I wanted to go to Statue of Liberty and he told me to pick a taxi instead of metro. It cost me 35 dollar in the taxi and driver told me best way was metro and he surprised travel concierGe advised me taxi. He said this people doesn't know anything about outside. Not even a bottle of water complementary. All toiletries are bare minimum and had to ask for certain things.

On my third night the Novotel wireless network didn't even show up on list of available networks and was seemingly down for the remainder of the night. Not as big a deal on a leisure trip, but if I had been there for business I would have been screwed. The sink in the bathroom was poorly designed. Every time I turned on the faucet, water would splash up and out of the bowl and get everything on the counter wet. Had to keep water on lo-flow to avoid this.

I said show me another room as u sound now ridiculous. Then the same(!) "engineer" came and.. oh miracle (!) he fixed it. I said all of u guys are such LIARS!! Just made me SO mad and irritated for no reason. Overall: WAY overpriced hotel for the way it is, HORRIBLE "costumer service" from most of the stuff here, no room delivery after 11:30pm (really?!), No parking space, Spent almost $300/night for the room doesn't even have tube. It's not a hotel, it's bullshit!.

Pros: This hotel saved us after an incident with our Airbnb accommodations left us stranded in the city. We are so glad to have found this gem, at a reasonable price and in such a great location. The excitement of Times Square is right outside your door, yet inside the hotel you are able to get quiet and restful sleep. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant just before our broadway show, and then walked a few blocks to the theater. Would definitely recommend!

Pros: The location is excelleñt, and everything is fine. Clean room, nice view, quiet, easy check-in/out, validated parking. The bed was comfortable, and every call to the hotel before and during our stay was.answered by a person who was knowledgeable and polite. Very nice.decor and shower.

Cons: The only thing I questioned (but was not a big deal) was the bathroom was small - couldn't fit 2 people in at once. The shower pressure was too good. Meaning that it hurt the body when the hand held was used. The rain shower was good but if you didn't want to wet your hair, you had to use the hand held which in turn was so powerful that it hurt the body. It didn't bother me that much but it was the only thing that was a bit uncomfortable.

Subway doesn't get any closer, entrance is immediately outside lobby door. Gym was spacious, if you need that. Didn't try the bar/restaurant, just too many other choices in Manhattan. For that matter, nice bathroom and comfy bed is all we needed, as we weren't looking to waste time sitting in the hotel.
Cons: Again, location is great as long as you want to be very close to Times Square and all that comes with it. Noise of the city is audible on the 16th floor, but wasn't a problem for either of us sleeping through it. Wifi has a fee, but you can avoid it if you sign up for IHC membership.

On the day of departure, I was late for the shuttle, since at least 15 minutes wait for the elevator to come down with luggage - only one elevator was operating! Reception explained that the hotel is in the process of reconstruction. But there was not warning about this on the site! Very disappointed!

Cons: I was extremely unsatisfied with the service at the hotel. When I first arrived in my hotel room I found that the bathroom door knob was somewhat broken and the toilet handle was difficult to use making it hard to flush at times. My room was supposed to come with a coffee maker in it and there was not one. I was not upset with that fact but what did upset me was that when I called to have one delivered, I was told that one would be brought up right away. This however was not the case, I called the front desk again about 20 or so minutes later and they apologized and told me one would be sent up. Another 15 minutes went by and I was still kept waiting for the coffee maker. I called the front desk for a third time and they transferred me somewhere in the hotel where I was told that the person that was to bring the coffee went on lunch, considering I called way before noon this was very frustrating. After waiting a whole hour I finally received the coffee machine and to my surprise was just a simple keurig machine that anyone could of brought up to my room. Another issue that I faced here was upon checking out. I had called the front desk an hour and a half before it was time to check out to have them send security to my room because the safe was no longer working and to have them bring my car out of the parking garage, they asked for my ticket number which was to be given to me by the doorman at my arrival, sadly no such ticket was given to me when the doorman took my car.The front desk basically told me there was nothing they could do without the ticket number and sent my call to the doorman for him to assist me. I waited on the line and the phone just continued to ring with no response. I called back to the front desk after a period of time because I was still waiting for security to open the safe and to get the car issue settled and ended up being transferred from person to person and no one was helping me locate my car. It became evident that I would have to go to the front desk to get this handle because nothing was getting handled. At the desk they insisted that I had received a ticket, which was 100 percent false if I had received the ticket I wouldn't have been in the situation I was in. It wasn't until a manager came over and took over and helped my situation by having the doorman go an physically check the lot for my car, and when he returned I was again forced to wait at least another half an hour to get my car which I didn't quite understand why it wasn't taken out of the lot while the doorman was already over there. I really am not one to complain but when I'm paying over 500 dollars to stay at a hotel I'd expect my service to be much better than the way I was treated.

This room had a window but barely let in any natural light. You couldn't see what the weather was like until you went outside. The bathroom was so tiny that the only way 2 people could be in there at the same time was if someone was in the shower and the other at the sink. The shower was a tiny stall! I couldn't bath without my elbows hitting the walls. Although, the similar price in 2014 gave us an amazing room with a street view and a huge bathroom (no need to upgrade). The staff on this last trip were friendly but seemed to be rushed. Not the cozy vibe that we had in 2014.

The only advantage you have is location.1.The room is quite small, no coffee maker (I requested 2 times by phone, excluded I came to the front desk to request face to face),no refrigerator(you need to request, the quantity is limited and no one replied about whether they would supply or not.) 2.No hair conditioner in the bottle at the first night I stayed.After the third night, I left a note in the bathroom for the housekeeper and said"please refill the conditioner. Thanks." No one cared about this. The bottle was still empty. 3. Airconditioner was broken. Luckily the front desk changed a room for me. This is the worst experience I have in NYC. I am pretty sure I will not choose this hotel in the future and tell others about this experience. Again, if you don't care about the service at all, choose it. If you don't mind to walk several minutes more to Times Square or other sites and want better service and bigger room, Holiday inn midtown at 57th street is a good choice. Pros: The hotel is very well-located. It's close to Rockefeller Plaza, Times Square, Grand Central Station, MOMA and Central Park. All these are a short walk away. Saks 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Plaza are across the road, the Apple Store and Bloomingdales are also close. It's not quite so well-located for the Guggenheim and the Frick Galleries. There is a much longer walk to these places, but if you don't mind taking a taxi or an Uber, it's fine. The main public spaces have their original 1920s decoration and are lovely! We got a great value deal, which made the hotel a steal!

The main bedroom was easily large enough to make the bathroom bigger. It's possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever had in any hotel. I'm not sure it's possible to make it any smaller and still be functional. Decoration of the corridors and rooms is not up to the standard of the entrance lobby, and the bars. It's not bad, it's just pretty characterless by comparison not only with the rest of the hotel, but also of comparable hotels. It's tasteful, well-maintained and spotlessly clean, but just very... characterless... There is no free wifi! I was amazed at this. This is one thing that you expect at every hotel, even cheap ones. Trying to charge $15 for it is a rip-off. Unfortunately, the room was noisy. You expect traffic noise in New York, and you get used to it. You don't expect constant plant noise from the Kitchen. If we had spent longer in the room, this may have been a real problem for us. The staff are great. the hotel is well-staffed and they are all professional, courteous and attentive. Based on our short stay, I would definitely recommend the Lotte Palace.

Also, upon check-in the key machine was not working so I was not authorized a room key. Pros: We were a couple with my 86 year old mother. Gorgeous lobby with a place to sit if you need to wait for your room. We liked the premium suite which has one double bed and two bunks. The bunks are separated from the double. The bathroom separates the bedding into two separate rooms, so allowed us privacy. The room was clean and the suites include a small refrigerator, in addition to a coffee maker. We found the room suitable for an excellent stay in the city, allowing mother to go with us to the broadway shows, within walking distance. We got a fantastic deal on the nightly rate. The location can't get any better than this.

This is a small problem. We found the housekeepers amiable and helpful when approached. Staff were mainly professional --- neither friendly, nor unfriendly. Our standard room was on the 11th floor and was very quiet with natural window light during daylight hours and blackout shades provided darkness for sleeping. The lobby and the location were the best part of the hotel. I would also like to mention their staff: warming and friendly.

I had hairs on my pillow and in 2 sheets. The hallways had trays full of used dishes and dirty silverware till late in the evening.So their cleaning stuff is clearly sloppy and not managed at all. On top of that the hotel is pretty noisy due to a club they run downstairs, thus you should bring some earplugs with you if you wanna sleep. Lastly I found a cockroach in their gym (yikes). I wont return there.

Pros: The room was impeccable, with cool decoration and great location, you can choose to go to a local market, a variety of restaurants, or just walk around Central Park. Food service was great (CJ was the sweet guy who brought my breakfast), and if you miss the kitchen hrs they'll recommend you a few places that'll deliver food to your room. Great bar with good bartenders(ask for Eric). Also ask for the total price of each service you request so you know what you'll be charged for, overall really good staff.

Cons: We booked our stay online (as I’m sure most do). This was our first stay at The Manhattan but not our first visit to NYC. The website pictures advertised updated, modern facilities, which was true of the lobby. However, once you get off the elevator, you realize the rest of the hotel (minus one floor apparently) has not ever been renovated. Upon walking into our room, we notice that the wallpaper and paint are peeling, the furniture is chipped, the bathroom is covered in pale pink tile and includes a fluorescent light box is not even bright enough to put your makeup on. After placing a call to the front desk, we realize this is typical of a “standard” room. The modern and updated pictures on the website actually reflect the “executive” room. We upgraded as soon as a room was available, and the facilities were much more consistent with what we expected. However, we had to then deal with the thermostat being defective, so our stay didn’t brighten up that much. We will not be staying here again.

We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee.
Cons: Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.

Cons: The staff were extremely unhelpful and unknowledgable about the facilities parking procedures. Due to miscommunication with several staff members (and kayak.com) we were unsatisfied with the entire parking experience as well as the lack of information regarding the price of parking before I made my reservation

Cons: Front desk staff - apart from one individual, staff were like zombies going through only the essentials. To be fair this may be a volume issue as the front desk is very busy and the staff have to manage languages from all over the world, which I will admit is no easy job. This creates delays in the check in process creating impatient (and rude customers). I will say they did handle the whining of people checking in with professionalism. Suggested solution - investigate peak period scheduling for front desk, specifically selecting staff with multiple languages

Pros: The Express checkout is convenient. For the price, it was a decent stay somewhere mid-town in a pinch.
Cons: The towels and sheets didn't smell very good. The bathtub wasn't the cleanest either.

Pros: The hotel was cool, nicely decorated, and the maid service was excellent.
Cons: It was my fault for making the reservation under my name, but we realized this the day before. I called and they added my husband name, no problem. Well when my husband arrived they told him I had to be there ( I was flying in later that night), so I call and they say his name is in the reservation and they don’t know why he can’t check in. I ask to speak to the front desk. 3 HOURS and multiple calls and multiple run arounds, still not talking to to the front desk; a person at the call center tells me he checked already! I talk to my husband who nis sitting on a bench inside with my two daughters sleeping in his lap. I tell him to try and check in, they check him in. A breakdown in communication led to a rough start.

Pros: The furniture and the look of the room was nice; very modern. Also seemed very clean. Priced reasonably.
Cons: Check in took quite a while and when we got to the counter the employee said she was upgrading us but I don't believe that was the case because the room was very small. One very simple thing was that there was no full length mirror which does not help when I'm getting ready for my boyfriend's birthday dinner.
